Taking good care of ourselves – looking after our bodies and our mental health –makes us feel better. Self-care means looking after yourself in a healthy way. This can include doing things you love doing or which you are good at that you enjoy.

We have a range of activities, events and projects that you can get involved in and which promote wellbeing. We have lots of gardening and food growing activities linked to our Community Garden. It has been shown that being active in green environments boosts your mood and self-esteem.

Our participants have fed back how they benefit from being outside, gardening, harvesting and cooking the produce that they have grown.

We can introduce you to physical exercise in a gradual and self-caring way, especially if you are not used to lots of activity or have a medical condition. Recently, participants have enjoyed taking part in our walking, swimming and dance and movement and reading groups.

Our Creative Industries enterprise runs lots of workshops that are not only enjoyable but therapeutic too. We have an art club that visits different exhibitions and art, joinery and textile studios where you can unlock your creativity.

Every year we have a series of events that are fun, interesting and allow participants to get involved in many different ways. They include inspirational trips and visits such as foraging for food in the New Forest Pride celebration in the summer and art exhibitions with music and poetry performances.

See our timetables for the opportunities on offer (Learn Explore Create 2017 Spring Prospectus) or contact us directly. If there is an activity or group you would like to take part in that we are not running we can sign post you to another project. Or why not set up a group with your friends? We can help.
