Growing Food

Would you like to grow, prepare or eat wholesome, tasty food? Then come and join us at our friendly gardening and cookery sessions.

You’ll learn how to grow, tend and harvest fruit, vegetables and herbs for the community cafe and to turn into delicious food for everyone at PBHA.

We also cook a meal together after every session, using the produce we have grown.

In addition, we offer cookery classes where you can learn how to make simple, healthy dishes like salads, soups and smoothies for you and your flatmates or friends. We also explore different ways to preserve seasonal foods, such as making jams or pickles.

To find out more about Growing Food or to talk to someone about joining classes, please email or call the Adult Learning & Employability team on 020 3815 4100, or ask your support worker for more details.

We run bespoke gardening sessions at various sites responding to the season and needs of the particular site.

We also offer one off workshops on different aspects of growing food, foraging for food and food based outings to other growing projects and food growing events.

PBHA tenants, participants and staff can eat delicious food made with ingredients from our gardens and join in with a range of social activities at our Clissold Community Hub.
