Today we say goodbye to Gbemiga Johnson, social work student at the University of Hertfordshire who has been on a 3-month study placement with PBHA. Gbemiga is a Respite Care Manager in West London, working with young people and their families.

Gbemiga has been learning on the job with Julia Pengelly and Dennis Adeyinka in the Hackney Supported Housing team.

‘I’ve learned a lot, supporting tenants to get out of their comfort zones and make changes in their lives,’ Gbemiga said.

‘Through my study placement, I’ve been able to apply what I learned in class. The most important thing is to really listen to people to know what their needs are.’

‘It’s been amazing working with the lovely faces at PBHA. I really appreciate everyone’s open, honest contributions.’

CEO Clare Norton said: ‘Our partnership with University of Hertfordshire allows PBHA to support a new generation of social workers. It’s been a pleasure having Gbemiga with us, and we look forward to seeing him achieve his qualification.’
