Our aim
VCS provides training and employment opportunities to Peter Bedford tenants and external participants, giving people the skills and confidence to move on with their lives and "shape brighter futures".
What we offer
Peter Bedford has a range of unique Training and Trading schemes that offer opportunities to our tenants and participants. We offer practical experience and vocational qualifications in customer-facing environments.
Who we work with
Anyone with support needs who can benefit from what is on offer may apply.
You must also be:
- over 18;
- ready and willing to take part, learn and contribute;
- and not pose an unmanageable risk to other participants or staff.
How to apply
We take people from the following referral routes:
- Adult social services
- Mental health teams
- Voluntary organisations
- Hospitals
- Support workers
- A family member ' or you can refer yourself ' Please note that all places must be funded.
What happens next
- All participants are interviewed by an impartial and qualified Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) worker at Peter Bedford. All interviews are treated as confidential.
- Before starting a programme, Peter Bedford requires an up-to-date risk assessment for the participant.
- The application process for joining VCS takes two weeks on average; we aim to be flexible and are willing to consider taking people on a trial basis.
