Tenants at Peter Bedford are supported to improve their life skills and build confidence

I have been a tenant at Peter Bedford for almost six years.  Before coming to Peter Bedford I was living in a hostel.  I started a course in Adult Literacy at Peter Bedford and recently passed the E1 City & Guilds qualification in Speaking and Listening. 

At first I was quiet and repeatedly said that I could not read or write. During the year, I learnt fast and my literacy skills improved dramatically. Now I notice words on signs and shops and remember how to spell them. I’m reading the TV pages in the newspaper as well.

Now I am much more confident and willing to take on new challenges. I hope to continue my learning, especially in reading and writing.
