Real Opportunities Pre-employment Programme

PBHA has been commissioned by the London Borough of Hackney through funding from the clinical commissioning group to support adults with learning disabilities and or Autism so they can achieve greater wellbeing and independence through a focus on pre-employment training and experience.

*The programme is aimed at Hackney residents only.

What you can expect from us:

We will provide you with opportunities to develop your wellbeing, confidence and work experience.

These will include:

  • Volunteering opportunities
  • Workshops on how to speak up with confidence
  • Individual Support
  • Help to improve Math, English and Computer skills
  • Opportunities to make friends and socialise

Building Better Opportunities

PBHA has successfully secured funding to support disabled people or those with a long-term health conditions who are aged 25 years and over back in to work. Building Better Opportunities brings together funding from the Big Lottery Fund and the European Social Fund (ESF) to help tackle the poverty and social exclusion faced by the most disadvantaged people in England.

What you can expect from us:

This programme will have capacity for applicants from Waltham Forest, Camden, Newham and Hackney and aims to offer you the following:

  • 13 to 16 week paid work as part of a new Intermediate Labour Market programme (ILM)
  • Paid National Living wage, which can be topped up by employer.
  • 16 to 30 hrs of work per week (we will recommend 24hrs per week).
  • A further 26weeks of support for those that progress into more permanent employment.
  • For those not in employment a further 13weeks of support.
